There was a fire at 211 Ottawa St N on Easter Sunday that has unfortunately damaged some businesses and apartments.
Over $1M in damage was done and sent plumes of thick smoke around the neighbourhood. You can read more about it in The Hamilton Spectator: https://www.thespec.com/news/hamilton-region/ottawa-street-fire-nerdcore-comic-book-shop/article_6c0f3785-2ed1-5888-9640-c8831043a550.html
The businesses affected are Sakumi Sushi, Nerdcore, Hambrgr and Earl’s Court Gallery.
Please check their directory listing and social media for more updates on how they’re doing and will reopen.
We’ve seen a GoFundMe fundraiser set up for Nerdcore, and will update this post if we find others for the affected businesses.

Ultimately we’re so glad to report there were no injuries to people or animals in the fire. We’ll work with those affected to do whatever we can to help out through this tough time.
